4t ESO: A letter to your future self

Dear students,
You're about to finish an important period of your life. It's the end of the ESO. I'm sure that you have a lot of memories of these years but now it's time to look ahead. Now you are going to write...

A Letter to your future self

You can decide when you want to receive your letter: 1, 3, 5 years or even more.

Write the letter just as you would to your best friend. If you want, you can write like Kim is doing and insert pictures.

You can find a model text here: http://alettertomyself.com/

Here are a few suggestions for what you could include;

  • How do you feel at this moment in your life?
  • What are some hopes and dreams you have for the future?
  • What goals would you like to have accomplished?
  • What do you find hard in your life right now? How do you feel about that in the future?
  • What are the positives and negatives in your life now?

  • Favourite things. What do you like most today? What are your favorite movies, books, television shows, songs, moments, people, celebrations, surprises, lessons, quotations or achievements?
  • Important questions and feelings. What are the big unanswered questions currently in your mind? How do you feel about your life and the world around you? What do you enjoy about today? What are you thankful for?
  • Goals and aspirations. What is the vision for your future life? What are the things you’re looking forward to? What are your hopes for your future self? How much or in what way do you expect to be different when you get the letter?
  • Highlights of the past year. Which funny facts do you want to remember or laugh about in the future? What were this year’s best things/worst things that happened to you? How would you describe this year in one sentence? In one word?
  • Lessons learned and advice for yourself. What advice would you give to your future self? What important lesson did you learn recently and don’t want to forget?
